Test Description

The PAI Plus is now available! Learn more! Have questions about the PAI Plus? View the transcript of the Q&A from a recent PAI Plus training webinar in the Resources tab above or here! An objective inventory of adult personality, the PAI assesses psychopathological syndromes and provides information relevant for clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for psychopathology. Administration time is up to 40 minutes shorter than that for similar instruments. The 344 PAI items constitute 22 nonoverlapping scales covering the constructs most relevant to a broad-based assessment of mental disorders: four validity scales, 11 clinical scales, five treatment scales, and two interpersonal scales. To facilitate interpretation and to cover the full range of complex clinical constructs, 10 scales contain conceptually derived subscales.  A comprehensive list of research articles related to the PAI is now available via Mendeley, a free reference management tool. A white paper describing the creation of this research repository can be found in the Resources tab above or here. Use of these resources are encouraged to facilitate research on personality and the PAI.
